ORDINATION OF DEACON JAY – 15 AUGUST

The Archbishop of Winnipeg, His Grace, Metropolitan Lawrence Huculak, will ordain Deacon Rev. Jay Korban to the priesthood at Holy Eucharist Church in Winnipeg on the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God, 15 August 2020.
Unfortunately, the pandemic regulations prevent in-person participation in the large numbers that are usually anticipated for such a joyful event. However, online participation will be available via Holy Eucharist Parish's online livestreaming [HERE] as well as from Anne Parish [HERE]
Deacon Jay has been serving at St. Anne Parish in Winnipeg's North Kildonan for the past year. Given the Church's need for priestly ministers in many areas, it is likely that after his ordination to the Priesthood, he will be entrusted with the pastoral care of a parish (or two) of his own.
An ordination is always exciting news in the Church and it gives everyone a ray of new hope. Do keep Deacon Jay in your prayer as he approaches the beginning of a whole new ministry in the Church.
Lord, O Lord, look down from heaven, survey and visit the vineyard which was planted by Your hand. May Your all-powerful hand be always on this people which You have loved. In every generation, Eternal God, until the end of the world, grant them holy bishops and priests, filled with Your Spirit - pastors and teachers of Your law, who would be able to keep the truth of Your holy incarnation without compromise and, with love, to teach and to guide this great people. Grant to Your clergy the grace to never fear any sacrifice, when it concerns Your glory and the good of this people. Set the hearts of Your priests on fire with a zealous spirit for the salvation of souls. Open before their eyes the wisdom of Your revelation and grant them to hold in high esteem the holiness of the task to which you called them. Bless their work and their intentions. Protect them from every evil - especially mortal sin. And unite them by Your grace, so that in love they would be one - as are you, Father, with Your Son and the Son with You. Amen.
Господи, Господи! Поглянь з неба, подивись і посіти виноград, який насадила твоя правиця. Нехай всемогутня твоя рука буде заєдно над цим народом, що його Ти полюбив. Давай йому, предвічний Боже, у кожному поколінні, аж до кінця світу, єпископів і священиків святих, повних твого Духа - пастирів і вчителів твого закону, що вміли б незмінно зберігати правду твого святого об'явлення та з любови навчати і судити цей великий нарід. Даруй українському духовенству ласки ніколи не боятися ніякого пожертвування, де тільки йде про твою славу і добро цього народу. Розпали в серцях українських священиків духа ревности про спасення душ. Відкрий перед їхніми очима премудрість твого об'явлення і дай їм високе почуття святости того діла, до якого Ти їх покликав. Благослови їх працю і їх наміри. Хорони їх від усякого лиха, а передусім від смертного гріха. І злучи їх Твоєю благодаттю, щоб любов'ю були одно - так як Ти, Отче, зі Сином своїм, і Син з тобою.
