FATHER ISIDORE DZIADYK 60 YEARS OF PRIESTLY MINISTRY

60 YEARS A PRIEST AND STILL AS ACTIVE AS EVER!
Fr. Isidore Dziadyk, OSBM began his monastic life with the novitiate at the famous Basilian Fathers' monastery and grotto at Mundare, Alberta. He completed his initial philosophic studies at the "Scholasticate" also in Mundare, and made his perpetual profession (aka final vows) at the Cathedral in Edmonton.
In 1957 he travelled to Rome to the undertake four years of theological studies at the Jesuit Gregorian University. After obtaining his theology degree, he, together with four other confreres, was ordained priest at the church of Sts. Sergius and Bacchus at the hands of the Apostolic Visitator for Ukrainians in Europe, Archbishop Ivan Buchko. This ordination took 
place 29 June 1960. This is now Fr. Isidore's 60th active year in serving the Lord and His People as a priest. To celebrate this amazing milestone - in spite of and yet maintaining the pandemic regulations - there have been a series of events that have taken place and probably will yet continue....
The major event was to be held in Edmonton on June 29, 2020 - prepared by Fr. Isidore's family, friends and admirers (where aren't such people found?) - but the pandemic curtailed these plans. Another major event took place on that date in Winnipeg at the chapel of the Basilian Fathers' Provincial House at St. Nicholas Parish. His Grace, Metropolitan Lawrence Huculak, OSBM celebrated the Divine Liturgy and Fr. Isidore concelebrated at the Altar. This concelebration of a Eucharistic Liturgy was most fitting as Father Isidore certainly made this offering tens of thousands of times as a priest on behalf of and for the people that he served. Metropolitan preached the homily and Fr. Isidore expressed his gratitude at the close. A small reception was held for only a small group of invitees as protocols permitted.
There have been other events where the "jubilarian" Fr. Isidore has been feted by being invited to lead the Divine Liturgy, preach, speak and/or be presented with token and words of appreciation. Besides the above-mentioned special Liturgy at the Provincial House, Father's anniversary was at the heart of celebrations at the Sisters Servants' Winnipeg Bethany Home, at Immaculate Heart of Mary School where Fr. Isidore served as the beloved school chaplain for decades, at Holy Eucharist Parish and other humble celebrations in the works .... at least until after the pandemic.

The Winnipeg Monastery of the Basilian Fathers celebrated the anniversary of the priesthood of Fr. Isidore Dziadyk In June 29, in the monastery chapel of the Basilian Fathers (Winnipeg, Canada), the Divine Liturgy was celebrated on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the priesthood of Fr. Isidore Dziadyk, OSBM. The Archbishop of Winnipeg, Metropolitan Lawrence Huculak celebrated the Sunday Divine Liturgy, in concelebration with the jubilee. In his speech, the Metropolitan pointed out important events in the biography and priestly life of Fr. Isidor and, in particular, mentioned Bishop Ivan Buchko, who 60 years ago administered the Holy Sacrament of the Priesthood to very reverend Fr. Isidore Dziadyk. Also, on behalf of the monastic community, Fr. Gabriel Haber, OSBM, Superior of the Canadian Province of the Sacred Heart of Christ delivered a speech on the occasion. He emphasized: "Today we celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the priesthood of our brother in Christ, who for decades has been and remains to this day a devoted minister of the Church and an excellent spiritual father. Congratulations and respect to you, dear Father, for your many years of fidelity and constant expression of love. We thank the Lord for the gift of your priesthood."

У Вінніпезькому монастирі отців василіан відзначили ювілей священства о. Ісидора Дзядика 29 червня в монастирській каплиці отців василіан (м. Вінніпег, Канада) відслужили Архиєрейську Святу Літургію з нагоди 60-ліття священства о. Ісидора Дзядика, ЧСВВ. Богослужіння очолив владика Лаврентій Гуцуляк, митрополит Вінніпезький, у співслужінні з ювіляром. У своїй промові митрополит виокремив важливі події з життєпису та священничого життя о. Ісидора та, зокрема, згадав владику Івана Бучка, який 60 років тому уділив Святе Таїнство Священства поважному сповіднику Христової віри. Також від імені монашої спільноти з привітальним словом звернувся о. Гавриїл Габер, ЧСВВ, протоігумен канадської провінції Пресвятого Серця Христового. Він наголосив: «Сьогодні ми святкуємо шістдесяту річницю священства нашого співбрата в Христі, який впродовж десятиліть був і до сьогодні залишається відданим служителем Церкви та зразковим духівником. Вітаємо й шануємо Вас, дорогий отче, за вашу багаторічну вірність та повсякчасний вияв любові. Дякуємо Господові за дар священства».
