HEAD OF UKRAINIAN CATHOLIC CHURCH EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES TO FAMILIIES OF FLIGHT VICTIMS
The Head of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims of flight disaster in Iran.
His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and Head of the Ukrainian Catholic Church expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the victims of the Ukraine International Airlines' Boeing 737 that crashed shortly after take-off from Teheran's Imam Khomeini Airport on 8 January 2020.
"According to the information of the competent Ukrainian sources, 176 people were killed in this catastrophe, 11 of which were citizens of Ukraine. I express my sincerest sympathies to the families and friends of the victims. I share your grief and I pray for God's comfort for you in your pain at the loss of your closest loved ones."
His Beatitude went on to call all the faithful of the Church to pray for peace for all the victims regardless of their nationality of religious affiliation. He concluded by saying, "May the Lord show His mercy to the victims and grant to their family and friends".
