OPERATION ST. NICHOLAS
December 5, 2019
"When you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly." (Matthew 6:3-4)
With these words of Jesus in our hearts we initiated Operation St. Nicholas.
Operation St. Nicholas was one of our pre-Christmas initiatives of the Rossburn Pastoral District.
Through this act of mercy (almsgiving) we hoped to bring happiness and love to needy children in Ukraine.
In total, we assembled 8 large boxes weighing 146 kgs.
The boxes were filled with children's socks, mittens, toques, neck warmers, long sleeve shirts, winter boots, jackets and pants, toothbrushes and toothpaste, candies and many other items.
Rosaries with icons of the Mother of God were a special gift made by Children from our Bible Study Group.
In addition to these large boxes we collected more than 40 shoe boxes for the poor and needy children of different ages.
Special thank you to St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church of Dolyny, Rossburn UCWL, Ukrainian Catholic Sisterhood of Rossburn, Oakburn UCWL, Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Oakburn, Rossburn Dollar Store and many individuals who supported this projects in different ways.
May the almighty God richly bless you for your love, care, time and generosity!
