Metropolitan Volodymyr Vityshyn of the Ukrainian City of Ivano-Frankivsk has asked all to pray the Rosary in October for peace in Ukraine. The military conflict in Ukraine's eastern provinces and the occupation of Crimea continue on with tragic results. The Archbishop asks people of goodwill to raise their souls in prayer.
October throughout the Catholic Church is during this period priests, monks and nuns as well as countless faithful make the special effort to pray the Rosary daily in response to the request of Our Lady at Fatima who said in 1917, "pray the Rosary daily to obtain peace and the end of wars".
In this spirit, the Archbishop of Ivano-Frankivsk, Metropolitan Volodymyr Vityshyn issued a video appeal to the faithful of the Archeparchy of Ivano-Frankivsk to dedicate themselves to prayer for peace and concord in Ukraine.
In his video presentation, Metropolitan Volodymyr says, "We come together during this month to pray the Rosary for peace in Ukraine, that our soldiers would return home. Let us remember that the Rosary is the greatest weapon of the Christian. With the Rosary and prayer Christians were always victorious and we too will be triumphant!"
