CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL SERVICES HOLDS 2019 CONFERENCE AT WINDSOR PARK CENTRE
Manitoba's 'Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services' hosted their 2019 three-day conference at the Winakwa Community Centre in Winnipeg's Windsor Park. The theme chosen for this year was, "ABOUNDING IN HOPE".
A large crowd of participants gathered at the Centre, coming mainly from around Manitoba, but a good number also came from outside the province as well. Several participants from the Archeparchy were also on hand, including Laity, Sisters and Clergy.
The special speakers were well known to the Catholic Charismatic community - Fr. Trevor Nathasingh from Spain and Maria Vadia from Miami, Florida. His Grace, Archbishop Richard Gagnon of Winnipeg was on hand in particular for the Sunday morning Mass as which he also preached.
Many non-Catholic sisters and brothers in the faith were also very welcome guests at the event. It is interesting to note that the conference organizers printed this kind clarification in the conference handbook, "Eucharistic Liturgies will be celebrated Saturday afternoon (day Mass) and Sunday morning. Sharing in the Eucharist, in the Catholic Tradition is a proclamation that the bread and wine have become the real and true Body and Blood of Christ. Sharing in the Eucharist is also a declaration of our membership in the Catholic Church under the guidance of His Holiness Pope Francis and Most Rev. Albert Legatt, Archbishop of St. Boniface; Most Rev. Richard Gagnon, Archbishop of Winnipeg, and Most Rev. Lawrence Huculak, Archeparchy of Winnipeg. Those who are not of the Catholic Tradition may join in the Communion procession to receive a blessing. To receive a blessing, please identify yourself by crossing your arms across your chest."
