ANNUAL RETREAT CONCLUDES FRIDAY: CLERGY MAKE THEIR WAY HOME
The 2017 Annual Clergy Retreat concluded on Friday, 22 September, with a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy presided at by Metropolitan Lawrence Huculak and Archbishop James Weisgerber and the Protopresbyter of the Dauphin Deanery, Fr. Oleh Bodnarski and Protodeacon Stefan Tyrawski. His Grace, Archbishop Weisgerber, who served as the ‘retreat master’ throughout the event, preached his last homily on the readings of the day [Ephesians 1:7-17 and Mark 8:1-10]. He was thanked on behalf of all the participants by Chancellor Fr. Michael Kwiatkowski, which was followed, of course, by the singing of an enthusiastic and heartfelt “Mnohaya lita!”. Archbishop Weisgerber then blessed the clergy as they would be starting out back to their homes after a last common lunch together. After a great pasta and salad lunch, the clergy started saying their goodbyes and making their way to their cars and the long ride back to Winnipeg or much further – to Brandon, Dauphin, Gilbert Plains…
Archbishop James Weisgerber shared so many insights and ideas and even proposals for how the retreat participants might enhance their ministry among God’s People throughout the Archeparchy of Winnipeg. About these ideas and inspirations you will have to ask the priests and deacons that serve you. They will be happy to share what they are ‘taking away’ from these four days far away from their parishes.
