A VISIT FOR UNITY
February 28, 2025
The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Canada is honored to welcome His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, for a pastoral visit to Winnipeg from March 1 to March 3, 2025. This visit provides an extraordinary opportunity for the faithful to come together in prayer, express their devotion, and reaffirm their connection with the global Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
One of the most anticipated moments of this visit will be the celebration of the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy by His Beatitude on Sunday, March 2, at 11:00 AM. The Liturgy will take place at the Cathedral of Sts. Volodymyr and Olha, the spiritual heart of the Archeparchy of Winnipeg. The Divine Liturgy, will serve as a powerful testament to the strong faith of Ukrainian Catholics in Canada and their support for Ukraine.
Following the Liturgy, His Beatitude will participate in a community gathering, offering a unique opportunity for attendees to engage in conversation, receive his blessing, and listen to his reflections on the current challenges of the war in Ukraine.
This visit by His Beatitude Sviatoslav comes at a time of immense hardship for Ukraine, as the nation continues to endure the devastating effects of war. His presence in Winnipeg serves as a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of the Ukrainian people and the vital role of faith in navigating in these difficult times. The visit also reinforces the deep historical ties between the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada and ancestral homeland.
We extend a heartfelt invitation to all members of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic community, as well as friends and supporters, to participate in this momentous occasion. Let us come together in faith and solidarity to pray with His Beatitude Sviatoslav, express our unity with our Church in Ukraine, and stand in support of our brothers and sisters in their hardships.
Let us show the world that, despite the challenges we face, our faith remains strong, our unity unbreakable, and our hope everlasting.
