Pope Francis releases his prayer intention for the month of April, and urges everyone to pray and work for a non-violent culture which promotes peace.

Жити, говорити і діяти без насильства - це не здаватись, не втрачати й не відмовлятися від чогось, а прагнути всього.
Як сказав святий Іван XXIII 60 років тому в своїй енцикліці Pacem in Terris, війна - це божевілля. Це поза межами розуму.
Будь-яка війна, будь-яке збройне протистояння завжди закінчується поразкою для всіх.
Давайте розвивати культуру миру.
Пам'ятаймо, що навіть у випадках самооборони мир є кінцевою метою!
Давайте зробимо ненасильство керівництвом наших дій як у повсякденному житті, так і в міжнародних відносинах.
І давайте молитися за більш поширену культуру ненасильства, яка розвиватиметься, коли країни та громадяни все менше вдаватимуться до використання зброї.
Living, speaking, and acting without violence is not surrendering, losing or giving up anything, but aspiring to everything.
As Saint John XXIII said 60 years ago in his Encyclical Pacem in Terris, war is madness. It's beyond reason.
Any war, any armed confrontation, always ends in defeat for all.
Let us develop a culture of peace.
Let us remember that, even in cases of self-defense, peace is the ultimate goal!
Let us make non-violence a guide for our actions, both in daily life and in international relations.
And let us pray for a more widespread culture of non-violence, that will progress when countries and citizens alike resort less and less to the use of arms.
