A NEW BISHOP FOR THE EPARCHY OF TORONTO

BISHOP BRYAN BAYDA, CSsR APPOINTED EPARCHIAL BISHOP OF TORONTO
His Grace Metropolitan Lawrence shared an announcement issued by the Apostolic Nunciature to Canada that His Holiness Pope Francis:
has appointed the Most Reverend Bryan Joseph Bayda, C.Ss.R. currently Ukrainian Eparchial Bishop of Saskatoon and Apostolic Administrator of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Toronto and Eastern Canada, as Bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Toronto and Eastern Canada;
has appointed the Most Reverend Lawrence Huculak, O.S.B.M., as Administrator of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Saskatoon, while remaining Metropolitan Archbishop of Winnipeg for Ukrainian Catholics in Canada.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!
Today the Holy Father, Pope Francis, has appointed our Apostolic Administrator, His Excellency Bryan Bayda, as Bishop of the Eparchy of Toronto and Eastern Canada, following the recommendation of the Synod of Bishops of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in this matter. His Beatitude Sviatoslav has called Bishop Bryan with a message of congratulations, and conveyed his blessings and prayers for all the clergy and faithful of our Eparchy.
I hope that you will join me in supporting Bishop Bryan with our prayers as in the months to come he bids his beloved Eparchy of Saskatoon farewell, and prepares to take permanent residence in an Eparchy he has already visited extensively and come to love over the past two and a half years. We will inform you as soon as plans for the episcopal installation are finalized.
Also, kindly keep in your prayers His Grace, Metropolitan Lawrence Huculak, OSBM, who has been appointed Apostolic Administrator of the Eparchy of Saskatoon by the Holy Father.
