POPE FRANCIS' AUGUST 2023 PRAYER INTENTION IS FOR THE YOUTH WHO ATTEND WORLD YOUTH DAY 2023

It seems like a natural choice for the August 2023 papal prayer intention, but Pope Francis' was not going for an easy, conventional pick. His request to the world that we pray for the anticipated million young people that are gathering this week in Lisbon Portugal for World Youth Day is an earnest appeal. The participants of World Youth Day will make up a seemingly miniscule .08% of the Catholic population in the world or just .01 of the world population. However, if they all return to their own counties, to their own provinces/eparchies with a renewed faith and sense of dedication to living the Gospel way of life and the teachings of the Catholic Church... well then, who knows what will happen!? We can remind ourselves about how our Lord began with only a dozen Apostles.

Pope Francis explains why this August we pray for the Youth at World Youth Day 2023...
