Knights of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy (KUCA)

The Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic men’s organization in the world, uniting over 2 million Catholic men who are actively involved in charity work in the Church, parishes, and their communities.

Church: The Knights carry out apostolic work among the laity, engage in evangelization, prayer, retreats, and deepening fidelity to the teaching of the Holy Father. They also provide volunteer assistance in the care and restoration of church buildings and surrounding areas.
Local community: Assistance programs for the poor, disabled, homeless, elderly, and sick.

Family: Preparation for Catholic marriage, actions to support marriage as a union of man and woman, assistance to widows and orphans, and strengthening the role of the family as the basic social unit through joint family retreats and recreational activities such as games and picnics.
Defense of life: Protection of life from the moment of conception to death, organization of pro-life marches against abortion and euthanasia, and the “Ultrasound” program.
Youth: Formation in the spirit of the Catholic faith and patriotism through sports, catechism, addiction prevention programs, and fostering healthy friendships.
Knights and their families: Brotherhood based on Catholic values, love of neighbor, and unity through cultural, social, and sporting activities. This includes retreats, pilgrimages, joint social activities for knights and their families, as well as psychological and financial support.

In 1986, nine chapters of the Knights of Columbus in the Ukrainian community of Winnipeg and surrounding areas united to strengthen communication and brotherhood among these councils within the Archeparchy of Winnipeg. This association became known as the Knights of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy (KUCA).
