The Cathedral of the Archeparchy of Winnipeg was built in 1951 according to the design of local architect John Nelson Semmens in the classical Byzantine style. The cathedral features 34 stained glass windows and a striking “rose window”.

Over the years, the cathedral has been graced by the presence of several notable figures who came to pray, including Patriarch Joseph Slipyj, Saint Pope John Paul II, and His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Head and Father of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
