Youth ministry
The Youth Ministry of the Archeparchy of Winnipeg is dedicated to educating and enlightening young people in accordance with the teachings of the Ukrainian Catholic Church. This ministry involves young individuals who develop personally and strengthen the church community.
Members of the community engage in social service, youth education, personal growth related to social skills and virtues, and helping young people discover and use the gifts with which God has endowed them. They hope to continue offering everything this ministry has to pass on to future generations.
The Ukrainian Catholic Youth began its activities in 1945 in Winnipeg, with other dioceses joining a few years later. There are currently five branches in Canada: three with a paid youth director (Winnipeg, Saskatoon, and Edmonton) and two with volunteers (Vancouver and Toronto). There is no membership list; anyone who is a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church between the ages of 12 and 40 is considered a member. The age distribution is as follows:
– **Younger Youth Member**: 12-15 years old
– **Senior Youth Member**: 16-18 years old
– **Young Adults**: 18-40 years old
