New Priest Ordained in Winnipeg Archeparchy

On Saturday, December 7, 2024, the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of Sts. Volodymyr and Olha in Winnipeg witnessed a significant and joyful moment as Bishop Andriy Rabiy ordained Protodeacon Stefan Tyrawski to the holy priesthood.

A large gathering of clergy, parishioners, friends, and relatives of the newly ordained Fr. Stefan Tyrawski came together for the solemn Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, accompanied by the harmonious singing of the parish choir.

In his sermon, Bishop Andriy emphasized the responsibilities of the priesthood, underscoring the importance of selfless service, humility, and profound faith. He encouraged Fr. Stefan to lead his congregation with love and commitment, reflecting Christ’s example as a shepherd.

During his thanksgiving speech, Fr. Stefan expressed his gratitude to God for His generous blessings and for fulfilling his childhood dream of becoming a priest. He also thanked his family, the Bishop, and the entire community for their unwavering support and prayers.

Following the Liturgy, celebratory ceremonies took place in the parish hall of the Protection of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic church. Guests savored traditional Ukrainian dishes and enjoyed warm conversations.

The next day, December 8, 2024, Fr. Stefan Tyrawski celebrated his first Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic church in Winnipeg.
