WINNIPEG — The Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canada is preparing for a landmark transition on Sunday, November 8, 2026, as the Most Rev. Michael Kwiatkowski is officially installed as the Fourth Archbishop of Winnipeg and Metropolitan of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canada.
Bishops, clergy, religious, and faithful from across the nation will gather in Winnipeg for the milestone event, marking a significant moment of prayer, celebration and fellowship. Highlighting the solemnity of the occasion, the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy will be presided over by His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, alongside His Excellency Most Reverend Ivan Jurkovič, Apostolic Nuncio to Canada, Ukrainian Catholic bishops of North America, Roman Catholic bishops of Canada and priests.
The Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Winnipeg has warmly invited all clergy and faithful to participate in the historic proceedings, which feature a three-part schedule throughout the day:
10:00 AM — Hierarchical Divine Liturgy & Installation

2:30 PM — Celebratory Banquet
- Location: Victoria Inn Hotel & Convention Center (Doors open at 1:30 PM)

7:00 PM — Evening Concert: AXIOS
- Location: Sts. Volodymyr and Olha Cathedral (115 McGregor Street, Winnipeg)
