Get ready for a day of joy, prayer, and fellowship! You are warmly invited to a special Jubilee Year get-together and celebration at the beautiful Ukrainian Park near Gimli on Saturday, September 6. This is a wonderful opportunity for families, friends, and parishioners from across the province to gather, relax, and make cherished memories on the shores of Lake Winnipeg.
Mark your calendars for a day packed with spiritual nourishment and festive fun for all ages. It’s a chance to step away from the everyday, to reconnect with your faith, and to celebrate together as one vibrant community.
A Day of Joy for All Ages
Our celebration is designed with the whole family in mind! The festivities will kick off with a variety of games and activities for children. Watch their faces light up with excitement as they play, laugh, and make new friends in the fresh country air. It’s the perfect setting for family fun.
The Spiritual Heart of Our Celebration
At the core of our Jubilee gathering is the opportunity for spiritual renewal. We will come together to participate in a Divine Liturgy celebrated by Metropolitan-Archbishop Lawrence Huculak, Archbishop-Emeritus Stefan Soroka, Most Rev. Andriy Rabiy, auxiliary bishop of the Winnipeg Archeparchy, and clergy of the Archeparchy, lifting our voices in prayer and thanksgiving.
Moreover, priests will be available to hear confessions during the Liturgy, offering a moment of peace and reconciliation. As a special grace of this Jubilee Year, all the faithful who prepare themselves will have the opportunity to receive a plenary indulgence.
An Evening of Fellowship and Fun
As the sun begins to set over the lake, the celebration continues!
- Shared Supper: Gather with old friends and new for a delicious supper. There’s nothing quite like sharing a meal together to build bonds of friendship and community.
- Zabava (Dance): Get ready to tap your feet! A lively Zabava will follow supper, with music that will have everyone wanting to dance. It’s a joyful expression of our rich culture.
- Vatra (Bonfire): We will end our day in the timeless tradition of gathering around a large Vatra. Share stories, sing songs, and enjoy the warmth and glow of the bonfire under the vast prairie sky.
This Jubilee Celebration is more than just an event; it’s a chance to relax, have fun, pray, and share a meal together. It is an invitation to strengthen our faith and our community bonds in a beautiful, natural setting.
