Canadian Council of Churches to Hold a Meeting Session at Sts. Volodymyr & Olha Cathedral

The city of Winnipeg will host the Canadian Council of Churches (CCC) Executive Board meeting from May 20–22, 2026. During this time, the Council will be convening several meetings to discuss critical issues, including a significant focus on the current situation in Ukraine and how the Council can best provide support and advocacy at this time.

The Executive Board warmly invites the public to join them for a special evening session hosted at Sts. Volodymyr & Olha Cathedral (115 McGregor Street) on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 7:00 PM.

 

Program Agenda:

 

    • 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Panel Discussion – Canada, Ukraine, and the Present Crisis A panel of distinguished guests will share insights on the current state of Canada-Ukraine relations, humanitarian aid efforts, assistance for newly arrived Ukrainians in Manitoba, and the religious situation in Ukraine during the war:
      • Mr. Ihor Mychalchyshyn, Former CEO of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress

      • Ms. Joanne Lewandosky, President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Manitoba

      • Most Rev. Andriy Rabiy, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archeparchy of Winnipeg

 

    • 8:00 PM – 8:30 PM: The Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canada: Metropolitan Lawrence Huculak will offer a reflection on the history and significant milestones of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canada.
    • Closing: The evening will conclude with the Prayer of the Ninth Hour.
