SERVING GOES BOTH WAYS

St Anne Knights of Columbus Council 10551 and Saint Anne UCWLC have had a long history and strong relationship with The Welcome Home organization. This relationship has proven to be very positive for both parties.

For the Knights of Columbus and UCWLC, it has brought home a knowledge that there is great need in our communities, and we can help. Throughout this association with the Welcome Home, many individual Brother Knights and UCWLC members have volunteered in the planning and preparation for the Thursday’s Family Night meals. When they are active in charitable endeavors, it enhances their sense of accomplishment and connection with the people who are on the receiving end.

The preparation of Thursday evening meals for Welcome Home is one of the first agenda items on our yearly schedule. Every member is knowledgeable about Welcome Home and the wonderful work and service they provide for the community. Similarly, in addition to the Knights of Columbus Council 10551 and the UCWLC, the parishioners of Saint Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church are supporters of The Welcome Home and the service they provide to those in need through the food collection program with the food bins that are placed at the back of the church.

Many parishioners use this service as an alternate way to be involved in the community. Also, food collection bins are used by the children attending the Lubov nursery  school for it is a great way to learn about charity and the needs of others through bringing food parcels to be placed inside the bins for the people. It is always a pleasure to deliver the boxes of food and other necessities to The Welcome Home. In serving the needs of The Welcome Home many people benefit – those who give and those who receive!
