Everyone is invited to a special Jubilee Year Pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Cooks Creek from Friday, August 15th to Sunday, August 17th, 2025.
In this Holy Year of Jubilee, proclaimed by Pope Francis as a time for “Pilgrims of Hope,” our own historic Cooks Creek has been designated as an official pilgrimage site. This is a sacred time of grace, renewal, and mercy.
All who make this pilgrimage and devoutly participate in the Divine Liturgy have the opportunity to receive a full plenary indulgence under the usual conditions: sacramental confession, reception of the Holy Eucharist, and prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father, with a complete detachment from all sin.
Pilgrimage Highlights Include:
- Hierarchical Divine Liturgies: Experience the beauty of the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on both Friday evening (Ukrainian) and Sunday afternoon (Bilingual at the Grotto). These solemn celebrations are the heart of our pilgrimage.
- Opportunities for Confession: The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, providing a path to the grace required for the Jubilee Indulgence.
- Devotional Prayer: Deepen your faith through the Rosary, the Stations of the Cross, and a beautiful evening Akathist to the Mother of God at the Grotto.
- Pilgrimage Walk: For those seeking a more physical act of pilgrimage, a 19.3km walk will take place on Saturday morning.
- Blessings and Anointing: Participate in the traditional Blessing of Water and Flowers and receive the grace of Anointing.
- Community Fellowship: Share in joyful meals and fellowship with fellow pilgrims, including a corn roast, a burger and hot dog supper, and a concluding chicken lunch on Sunday. For the more adventurous, an overnight campfire and campout are available on Friday and Saturday nights (please bring your own tent or camper).
This Jubilee Pilgrimage is a profound opportunity to walk in faith, receive abundant grace, and be renewed in hope. We joyfully await your presence at this blessed event.
