On December 29, 2024, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church inaugurated its jubilee year with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope”. On this day, bishops solemnly opened the doors of pilgrimage churches in dioceses, archeparchies, eparchies, and exarchates of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church worldwide.
Pilgrims who fulfill all the requirements—including receiving the Holy Sacrament of Penance, participating in the Holy Liturgy and receiving the Holy Eucharist, as well as pray in the intention of the Holy Father will be able to receive a plenary jubilee indulgence from December 29, 2024 to December 28, 2025.
The plenary indulgence grants a complete remission from temporal punishment for sins already forgiven, purifying the soul, renewing it to the state of grace received at Baptism.
