His Beatitude Sviatoslav thanked the Sisters of St. Joseph in Saskatoon for their service to the elderly

The Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, has expressed his gratitude to the Sisters of St. Joseph in Saskatoon, Canada, who serve the elderly with profound dedication.

This was reported by the UGCC Information Department.

On December 19, 2024, His Beatitude Sviatoslav met at his residence in Kyiv with the newly elected General Administration of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, led by the Superior General, Sr. Markiyana Vasylyshyn.

During the meeting, His Beatitude Sviatoslav expressed his support and high regard for the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph in their service to the Church and society. In particular, the Patriarch thanked the sisters for their selfless ministry in various parts of Ukraine, as well as in Saskatoon, Canada, where they “work with the elderly, preserving life in a place where euthanasia is legalized.” Following the discussion, he imparted his blessing upon their future endeavors.

The Head of the UGCC also emphasized the importance of spreading knowledge regarding the spiritual heritage of Fr. Kyrylo Seletskyi, the founder of the Congregation, not only in Ukraine but throughout the world.

One of the key pieces of advice offered by His Beatitude Sviatoslav concerned the intrinsic value of the sisters as individuals. He stressed the importance of treating the sisters and their labor with care, highlighting that each sister is precious not only for her work but for who she is as a person.
