The Eparch of Toronto and Eastern Canada, Bishop Bryan Bayda, is celebrating the 15th anniversary of his episcopal ordination. On this occasion, the Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, congratulated the Bishop and thanked him for his faithful service.
“Personally, and on behalf of the Synod of Bishops of our Church, we congratulate you on this anniversary, which has been a great blessing for the faithful of our Church in Canada. We thank the Lord for the gift of your life, your holy ministry, and all the graces He has so generously bestowed upon you,” the congratulatory letter reads.
The Primate noted that exactly 15 years ago, Bishop Bryan Bayda was ordained to the episcopate at St. George’s Cathedral in Saskatoon. Metropolitan Lawrence Huculak of Winnipeg served as the principal consecrator that day, with Bishops Michael Wiwchar and Kenneth Nowakowski serving as co-consecrators.
The Head of the Church expressed his warmest gratitude to the Bishop, offering appreciation and commendation for his episcopal ministry: “Your ministry is marked by pastoral care for the faithful of our Church, for whom you have become a caring father, a devout preacher of Christ’s truth, and a defender of their rights and freedoms. In you, priests find an example to follow in prayer and works of mercy.”
On this 15th anniversary, His Beatitude Sviatoslav thanked the Lord for calling the Bishop to the path of dedicated service to the Church.
“Please accept our sincere congratulations and wishes for plentiful divine blessings and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all your endeavors for the glory of God and the good of our Church—for many blessed years!” the Primate concluded.
