CANADIAN BISHOPS TO CONSECRATE CANADA TO MARY

April 29, 2020

CANADA'S CATHOLIC BISHOPS AND THOSE OF THE UNITED STATES TO PLACE CANADA AND U.S. UNDER PROTECTION OF THE MOTHER OF GOD

Both Episcopal Conferences in Canada and the United States of America announced that they will be consecrating their respective countries to the Blessed Virgin Mary - "Mother of the Church" - thus, placing these countries under the protection of the Theotokos in these perilous times of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The Consecration is scheduled to take place on Friday May 1st in all the eparchies and dioceses throughout North America.

Helpful information that includes explanations, prayers as well as a proposed consecration ceremony can be found of the sites of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops [CCCB] and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops [USCCB].

The consecration, of course, will also take place within the Archeparchy of Winnipeg. More details about particular prayers and events will be posted shortly. Don't Miss it!

One of the prayers from the CCCB site...

Mary our Mother,

may the Cross of your Son,

planted on Canadian soil

and in Canadian hearts,

be known as the Tree of Life,

whose fruit is visible

and available to all

in the garden of this world.

We place our country Canada

in the sanctuary of your Holy Heart

for we know that there we will find

Jesus, who lives and reigns

with the Father in the unity

of the Holy Spirit, one God,

forever and ever.

Amen.
