MANITOBA PREMIER BRIAN PALLISTER VISITS COOKS CREEK SHRINE
The Premier of the Province of Manitoba, Brian Pallister and local MLA for the area, Ron Schuler, paid a visit to the famous Ukrainian Catholic Shrine on Monday 18 August 2019. Parish Pastoral Councuil Chair Gerry Palidwor offered them a tour of the grand "prairie cathedral" the church of the Immaculate Conception and Lourdes Grotto. Both designed by the saintly missionary Fr. Philip Ruh, OMI, who also oversaw their construction until his death. They also met with some of teh local residents of the area.
