“Life-Giving Love”: National Campaign in Favour of Palliative Care and Against Euthanasia

October 3, 2014

The Catholic Organization for Life and Family  invites all people of good will to answer Christ's plea: "Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me” (Mt. 25: 40). This campaign of education and action, which is structured around the theme “Life-Giving Love” (www.lifegivinglove.com), is also a response to Pope Francis’ urgent call: “In imitation of our Master, we Christians are called to confront the poverty of our brothers and sisters, to touch it, to make it our own and to take practical steps to alleviate it”.1 Neglect and abandonment of the elderly, insists the Holy Father, "are a real and true hidden euthanasia."2

1Pope Francis, 2014 Lenten Message: « He became poor so that by his poverty you might become rich».

2Pope Francis, Mass for elderly people in St. Peter's Square, 28 September 2014.
