FATHER BRIAN KOLDIEJCHUK, MC MEETS SEMINARIANS IN UKRAINE

The Seminary community of Holy Spirit Theological Seminary in Lviv, Ukraine meets with Fr. Brian Kolodiejchuk, MC - who knew Mother Teresa personally and who also served as the Postulator for her canonization process.

The Seminarians had the opportunity to hear a personal firsthand, witness account about the life of St. Mother Teresa - about the journey of her spiritual purification and growth and they learned about her difficulties and her methods of battle in the spiritual life. Father Brian characterized the Saint as, "a woman passionately in love with Jesus. She was an extraordinary and prayerful woman." He challenged the seminarians, saying, "I encourage you to seek holiness in the way of this holy Nun… not by words, but by action…!" He went on to remind the Seminarians of some of the fundamental thoughts of Mother Teresa, "To live by prayer - this is holiness. Holiness - is to allow Jesus to live His life within us"; "The vocation of a Priest is - to be Christ in the world. We must allow Christ to love the world through us!" "Allow Jesus to use you, without consulting you." "Let us do the work of God together. Christ really needs this."

As the meeting concluded, Seminary Rector, Fr. Ihor Boyko, thanked Fr. Brian for his visit and his sharing about the life of Mother Teresa... a life which was simultaneously simple, yet magnanimous. Father Brian presented the Seminary with the precious gift of a holy relic of Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
