COOKS CREEK 62nd DORMITION PILGRIMAGE 19-21 AUGUST

August 18, 2016

This year, the annual Marian pilgrimage to the breath-taking Prairie Cathedral and Grotto at Cooks Creek, Manitoba, will take on a special spirit with this also being an Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy.

If this isn’t inspiration enough, we need only look at the unprecedented turmoil occurring throughout our global society. Not that we should gather out of fear, but rather to muster courage and allow ourselves to be imbued with the calm of Christ and His Blessed Mother, the Queen of Peace. This is a great time to refocus our hearts and our lives on our faith and our personal commitment to our merciful Lord and His call to hear the Gospel and live it!  (Luke 10:28)

The Pilgrimage to Cooks Creek has always been a time of spiritual renewal and prayer and healing and fellowship with our many brothers and sisters in the faith from around the province. In recent years the family and youth component has really been developed, where all are welcome and made to feel so! And all our favourite events still take place throughout the three-day weekend…. Akafist, Rosary, walking pilgrimages, healing services, the opportunity for Confession, peaceful solitude and, of course, above all, the Eucharistic Liturgy every day. The high point of the pilgrimage is the inspirational Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on the Sunday with His Grace, the Archbishop of Winnipeg, Metropolitan Lawrence Huculak.

Wondering if you should come? Just come! You will be so glad that you did and so will the Lord, His Blessed Mother and everyone else who will be there! [Website]
