Trembowla Commemorative Pioneer Service 2015

On Sunday August 2nd, 2015, at 12:30 pm, Reverend Fr. Oleg Bodnarski was welcomed to Trembowla Cross of Freedom site where he celebrated a Moleben Service honouring pioneers. The celebration is held each year on the Sunday of Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival and this year commemorated the Fiftieth Anniversary of this event alongside the Ukrainian Festival weekend.
Attending as Honour Guard for the Service were the St. Viator’s 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, while Marvin Procyshyn served as Cantor, and M.C. for the program.
Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival Choir enhanced the celebration with their harmonius voices and were also joined by the Lastiwka Ukrainian Orthodox Choir of Saskatoon.
Bringing greetings were Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival Hospodar and Hospodynia Marvin and Anne Odut, President and Executive Director of the Ukrainian Canadian Foundation of Taras Shevchenko Lesia Szwaluk, representatives from the Rural Municipality of Dauphin, the City of Dauphin, as well as well as other dignitaries.
Approximately 300 guests attended the event and enjoyed the traditional outdoor luncheon, Ukrainian choral entertainment and dance during the sunny afternoon. The Trembowla Committee is thankful to Rev. Oleg Bodnarski and everyone who participated and supported this event; it truly was a memorable day and we thank you all!
