Year of Consecrated Life and the Archeparchy of Winnipeg
July 28, 2015
Pope Francis has asked that the Church enter a year of celebrating and contemplating the great gift of Consecrated life. In the opening lines, he set the dates “I decided to proclaim a Year of Consecrated Life on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Dogmatic Constitution on the Church Lumen Gentium, which speaks of religious in the sixth chapter and of the Decree Perfectae Caritatis on the renewal of religious life. The Year will begin on 30 November 2014, the First Sunday of Advent, and conclude with the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple on 2 February 2016.”
This year in August, on the weekend when our Archeparchy comes together for the annual Marian Pilgrimage at Cooks Creek, we will have a few events that surely inspire us to rejoice in the continuation of consecrated life as a few individuals will proclaim their vows of dedication to the religious life.
Three Sisters Servants of Marry Immaculate and a member of the Redemptorists community will profess their vows of consecrated life of varying degrees.
Keep them in your prayer!
Very Rev. Dr. Michael Kwiatkowski
