Parishioners perform in this year’s Passion Play
July 8, 2013
Numerous parishioners from Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, in Winnipeg, made the drive to the beautiful Oak Valley at La Riviere, Manitoba to watch the now famous Manitoba Passion Play. The evening takes places at an elaborate open air theatre that uses the landscape brilliantly for a wide range of scenes to cover the life of our Saviour, Jesus Christ from His birth to His Resurrection – albeit, concentrating mainly on dramatic events surrounding his life-giving passion.
Many parishioners made their own arrangements to attend with family and friends. However, we are very pleased that our parish bus was able to take out two busloads on the opening weekend and on the closing weekend.
We are very proud that a number of people from our parish (and friends of our parish ;-) were among the performing stars of the inspiring production! This includes: Lydia Firman, Curtis Shupenia, Deacon Patrick, Triston Eastman, Kaitlyn Shupenia and Nadia Malchuk.
If you missed it this year (and if you have never gone) – you want to mark your calendar already for next year! It is really an amazing production in the southern valleys of our own province!
