Lenten Parish Mission in Sacred Heart of Jesus, Rossburn

March 20, 2015

Sacred Heart of Jesus Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rossburn hosted a Lenten Mission during the week of March 13 to 15, 2015.

It began with Easter confession and a fish supper.

Our parish priest Fr. Mykhaylo Khomitskyy, then introduced our guest speaker Fr. Yaroslav Buduykevych after which he gave his first presentation.

He spoke on forgiveness and used Bible readings, incorporating their meaning into our lives in today's modern world. The following evening Fr. Yaroslav chose the topic, love and spoke of its many facets and how we can spiritually grow from it.

Summing up his mission presentation at Sunday's Divine Liturgy, he emphasized the love of Jesus Christ, that we should put our trust in Him and like innocent children except Him into our hearts and let Him lead the way.

In shortly, we had the privilege of listening to an inspiring speaker who warmed the hearts and enlightened the spirits of those who attended.

At Sunday's Divine Liturgy, Fr. Yaroslav Buduykevych also gave one talk at St. Josaphat's Ukraine Catholic Church, Shoal Lake. He started with a magic trick emphasizing that there is no magic in our relationship with Jesus Christ everything is so genuine and real. In referring to the gospel of the day he said, that we should bring our children to Christ, like the father from the Gospel account brought his son in need of healing. He ended, that we should trust more in our Savior.
