BISHOP ANDRIY RABIY ARRIVES IN WINNIPEG

The Archbishop of Winnipeg, His Grace, Metropolitan Lawrence Huculak, together with the Archeparchial Syncellus for Church Property V. Reverend Mark Gnutel and Chancellor V. Rev. Michael Kwiatkowski made their way to Winnipeg's Richardson International Airport on Friday afternoon to meet and welcome the newly appointed auxiliary Bishop for the Archeparchy of Winnipeg - His Excellency, Most Rev. Andriy Rabiy.

As Bishop Andriy will be visiting parishes and participating in Archeparchial events once he is settled in, his arrival was thankfully peaceful but heartfelt and successful on all accounts. Metropolitan Lawrence was visibly joyful at welcoming Bishop Andriy who will be collaborating him in the coming months and years in serving the pastoral needs of the faithful across Manitoba. It has been mentioned that one of his early focuses will be assisting with the thousands of newcomers from Ukraine who have been kindly welcomed into Manitoba since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began in February of this year, forced millions to flee from their brutally destroyed homes and livelihood.

 

One of the first major events, of several, during which Bishop Rabiy will be introduced and welcomed into the Archeparchy, will be the Christmas Eve Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral on January 6th. He and Metropolitan Lawrence will first attend a traditional Sviatyj Vechir supper that the Archeparchy is hosting for Newcomers!
