NEW PRIEST ARRIVES IN WINNIPEG FOR MINISTRY IN ARCHEPARCHY

FATHER IVAN HNATIV RETURNS FROM UKRAINE TO BEGIN MINISTRY IN MANITOBA

It was a long time since Fr Ivan Hnativ of the Eparchy of Sambir-Drohobych visited the Archeparchy of Winnipeg to see if it would be a fit for him and for the needs of the Church in Manitoba. Everyone agreed at the time that he would do well, but then Covid struck and the many restrictions made his return very complicated.

Well, after two years, Fr Ivan and his wife Iryna and daughter Anastasia arrived at Winnipeg International Airport on Friday.

They will spend some time in Winnipeg going through all the necessary registrations and documentation (and just becoming acclimatized to Canada*) before going on to their first assignment.

Please keep Father Ivan and his family and his future parishioners in your prayer. We wish them the very best. May our Lord bless them with His grace and guide them ever on the path of holiness and grant them a full and vibrant life in Christ!

(* They had to spend a bit of time in Toronto after their arrival in Canada, and when they arrived in Winnipeg Father Ivan noted that, "you know, its considerably colder in Winnipeg than Toronto". Heh, heh... wait 'till he enjoys a good Manitoba winter...)
