Pope Francis uses tablet to illuminate Christmas tree
December 8, 2014
On Sunday evening December 7, 2014, using a tablet, Pope Francis lighted a gigantic Christmas tree created with lights on a hillside above the Umbrian town Gubbio in Italy. The lighting ceremony came after Pope Francis delivered a message via video link from the Vatican City.
The tree created in one thousand coloured lights in 1991 was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest Christmas tree in the world, resting on the side of Mount Ingino – with its 450-meter base, 750 meters of height, and 130,000-square-meter surface.
